Adrian Frutiger (born 30 January 1971 in Zurich) is a Swiss composer who describes himself as an ‘audio didact’. He discovered his passion for music at an early age by experimenting with tape machines and electronic music. After completing an apprenticeship as a decorative designer, he began working as a set designer on the film Nacht der Gaukler (Night of the Jugglers) in 1996, and subsequently took over the film music. This first work won him the Förderpreis (Advancement Award) at the Filmmusikbiennale Bonn. Since then, he has composed music for numerous feature films and television films, including Mein Name ist Eugen (My Name is Eugen), Grounding – Die letzten Tage der Swissair (Grounding – The Last Days of Swissair), Wolkenbruch (Cloudburst) and Early Birds. In addition to film music, he also works for theatre productions, multimedia installations and commercials. He lives and works in Zurich.
